Adult Ministries... First Serve...

/files/Serve/firstserve.jpgWhat is a First Serve, you ask?
It’s a new approach at Trinity to help YOU take no-risk peeks at possible places to to use your gifts, talents, and passion in ministry.

The idea: if you aren’t sure about jumping into a long-term commitment in a ministry, you can do a FIRST SERVE.

This means you only commit to a short, (most will be 20 minutes - 2 hour) one-time experience in a ministry area with a person who can give you an idea of what the group/team does. You can see if it fits who you are and what God is calling you to do.

You can look at all FIRST SERVES at the information display in the lobby--look for multi-colored cards and a blue carabiner. In the coming weeks, we will also publish a complete catalog of First Serves and in upcoming editions of the Involvement Opportunities booklet (found in the church pews) we will list them, also.  Or, visit the ministries listed below to find a FIRST SERVE that works for you!

At Trinity, we seek to be a “church of groups”...

Put simply: on a personal, group/team level, and as a church, we seek to live out our mission and vision (see "Welcome" tab above) and the five purposes of the church (worship, fellowship, discipleship, service, evangelism).  We pray that as we strive to become all that God intends for us to be, we will ever increasingly experience the following wherever we are in the church body:

Worship: that we rely on the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for guidance, strength, and love . . . that we praise Him for all He is;

Community:  that building healthy, safe, trusting, loving relationships is important in every setting at Trinity whether people are working together to complete a task or studying God’s word together;

Spiritual growth:  that building our relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is paramount as Christians. . .  that learning more about His word on our own and in community with other believers is essential to the continual development of our spiritual lives;

Service:  that we reach out to help people in need within our church walls and without . . . God’s word calls us to be servants to all and to give sacrificially in whatever way He asks;

Sharing our faith with others:  that we are called by Jesus to share His love and the message of salvation through Him with others who don’t know Him.

ADMINISTRATIVE MINISTRIES...
These ministry groups help the church operate efficiently and strive for excellence as we provide financial, physical, and technical support to all ministry.

CARE MINISTRIES...

Care Ministries reach out to hurting people at Trinity, striving to offer loving care and support in a time of need.

COMMUNICATIONS MINISTRIES...

Trinity’s print and electronic media is used to communicate information and promote involvement in the activities of the many and varied ministries of the church. Involvement in the writing or design of these publications by volunteers is welcome.

CONNECTION MINISTRIES...
The mission of Trinity’s Connection Ministries is to help people find a sense community with God and others wherever they go within our church family.

DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRIES...

According to our Mission statement: Trinity Church exists… to build (others) up into a workable and credible faith. . . This is the intent of our Adult Discipleship area. To facilitate this process of ‘building up’ of each of us, Trinity groups (of all magnitudes and missions) make available growth through several avenues.

EVANGELISM MINISTRIES...

Evangelism ministry is reaching and bringing those outside of the church into our Church community and into a relationship with Jesus Christ. Very few people with the gift of evangelism are needed to for this ministry. What we need is a diverse team of individuals with a variety of gifts.

SERVICE MINISTRIES...

Trinity’s people also reach out beyond our own congregation to serve God’s children (of all ages) both locally (greater Lansing area) and globally (anywhere beyond local). Our current Local and Global service missions are listed below. If you have a passion to reach out in other ways, either to different people in need or different means, please contact the church office.

TECHNOLOGY AND MEDIA MINISTRIES...

These ministries provide technical support to all ministries.

WORSHIP MINISTRIES...

Magnify God and lead congregational worshippers in a way that invites “seekers” to become disciples of Jesus, and builds up and encourages disciples to share Christ with their families and neighbors.
